Dr. Thomas D. Zweifel Coach, Author, Professor |
Thomas Zweifel has coached hundreds of leaders
in Fortune 500 companies, SME's, governments, and non-governmental
organizations since 1984. Living in Europe, India, Japan and the United
States, he has enabled large-scale change processes, built virtual
high-performance teams, and realized breakthrough results for clients,
often as a virtual leader working through remote empowerment.
Thomas teaches leadership and cross-cultural management
at the School of International and Public Affairs of Columbia
University and at St. Gallen Business School (HSG). He publishes
frequently on leadership and is the author of Culture Clash: Managing the High-Performance Team and Communicate or Die (both Select Books, 2003); Democratic Deficit? Institutions and Regulation in the European Union, Switzerland, and the United States (Rowman & Littlefield, 2002) and International Organizations: Democracy, Accountability, Power
(Lynne Rienner Publishers, forthcoming). In addition to his writing,
Thomas speaks often in corporations, international organizations, and
the media, most recently on ABC News and CNN.
Born
in Paris, Thomas was educated in Switzerland, Germany and the United
States, and is fluent in English, German, French, and Italian. He holds
a master’s degree in international affairs from Columbia University
and a Ph.D. in International Relations from New York University. In
1996 he realized his dream of breaking three hours in the New York City
Marathon, and in 1997 was recognized as the “fastest CEO in the New
York City Marathon.”
Thomas' professional affiliations include
membership of the International Coach Federation and the Association of
Professional Communication Consultants.
